Find a College or University: U. S. News and World Report College Rankings The popular list of top schools. "Use our sortable ranking tables, searchable directory, school comparison tool, and more to find out how your school stacks up." College and University Rankings The list includes "CollegeProwler College Rankings", "Kiplinger's 100 Best Values in Public Colleges," "Mother Jones Top 10 Activist Schools," "New Mobility Disability-Friendly Colleges," and "Princeton Review's The Best Colleges Ranked by Students." My College Guide Search for the right college for you based on region, cost, class size, community size, and school type. You can also ask "Admissions Guru" about admissions questions and view previous answers. College View Research colleges based on areas of study, location, student body size, public or private school, religious affiliation, student body type, ethnicity, athletics, and special services for disabilities. This site also provides information on careers and financial aid. Community College Review Search for community colleges in the United States. You can search by name or by zip code. Princeton Review Use this informative site to explore colleges and graduate universities with additional information about business, medical, and law programs. Also find information about entrance tests and financial aid. College Tests, Applications and Essays: ACT Test The site of the national college entrance exam. Find the time and location for the test. SAT Test - College Board Use this site to register and prepare for the SAT college entrance exam. College Board Tests This website give information about when testing takes place, tips on preparing for the test, and links to online practice tests. (Note: payment required for the practice tests) Common Application Online application form for 255 colleges and universities for admission to their undergraduate programs. SAT Preparation Words This site lists 5000 words that may be on the test. They will give you an idea of the type of words used in the test. This site also provides sample essays and templates to follow. Financial Aid: Collegenet.com Search for scholarships and financial aid programs. This resource allows you to search for scholarships based on your financial and demographic situation. You can organize your search by highest dollar amount, highest amount of applicants awarded, or closest deadline. Federal Student Aid Find information about getting help paying for college from the U. S. government. FAFSA This site provides instructions for applying for Federal student aid. You can also fill out the form online. Finaid Search for information about financial aid, scholarships, loans, and military aid. This site will also give you information about getting financial aid and provides a calculator for how much money you will need for school.
