June 25, 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Nicholson Guenther Bandshell
The Chemical City Band is one of Midland's finest traditions. Operating since 1910, the group has performed free concerts for the community during the summer months and represents musicians from ages 16 to 90 who come from all walks of life. The performances include a pleasant mix of featured soloists, medleys of show tunes, light classics, and of course, marches. As we seek to emulate the performance tradition of great bands as led by Sousa, Fillmore, and Goldman, the band's membership is "by invitation only" because of the high level of sight reading skill needed to prepare each concert on only one rehearsal.
For a charming slice of American history and an enjoyable evening in Midland's historic Central Park, join us on Wednesday evenings from mid June thru the end of July. Concerts begin at 7:30pm and last about an hour. There is no charge for admission.
