MINUTES OF THE BARSTOW AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING
January 7, 2014
PRESENT: Senesac, Siemer, Janson, Pollack
LOCATION: Barstow Airport
OTHERS: JT Rairigh
REPORTED BY: Brian McManus, Airport Manager
Commissioner Siemer called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
The minutes of the November 5, 2013 meeting were reviewed. It was moved by Janson supported by Siemer “to approve and file the minutes of the November 5, 2014 meeting.” Approved (4/0)
The Monthly Manager’s Report Summary for June through August was presented by Brian and JT. JT Rairigh and discussed by the commission. Movements were down considerably and fuel sales down a little. The 17 inches of snow was the most received in a long, long time and it likely affected flying. Training was down a little.
With regard to the maintenance update it has been a year of a lot of snow plowing. The new building has helped a lot.
Brian provided an update on the apron project. It is on schedule and for bidding in February. We should have a better report at the next meeting.
The airport obstacles have been resolved. As it turned out the FAA had used old numbers. A few trees were cleared.
Matt Janson discussed the viewing area project that was first initiated in 2008. The airport promotions committee will begin regular meeting to keep the project moving and attempt to combine it with our upcoming fence and gate project.
