III. Public Comments:
No public comment
V. Old Business:
a. CAAC Goals: Beacom reviewed the goals for 2010-11.
b. Cable Communications Fund – The figures shown are unaudited figures. Franchise fees are
below the projected amount primarily because Charter pays us quarterly and we haven’t
received payment yet. If second payment is like the first, we will be above the
projected amount. Sponsorship letters went out last week. Expenditures are on course
at this time.
c. Friends of MCTV raised over $27,000, goal is $50,000. In early April Friends are planning another benefit concert.
Donation’s at the door. Possibly will have a restaurant fundraiser, a parking event at a Loons game, and maybe something in the fall.
Honors Night will be held again in November.
VI. New Business – Michigan is all quiet on the legislative front
a. Indiana Legislation – H.R. Bill 1131 will eliminate franchise fees if passed. ACM-Michigan & NATDA are holding a joint meeting in March.
In New Jersey there is a bill to remove provisions for PEG channels and support . Beacom stated we will watch for updates.
b. CAAC Terms – The Cable Access Advisory Commission has 2 terms that are up, Bob Granstra and Roy Green.
If either is still interested, they will need to let Beacom know.
Friends of MCTV- Next Meeting is Tuesday, March 8 at 5pm in the conference room in the library by the MCTV office.
Public is welcome to attend the meeting or be a Friend of MCTV.
