Rockwell moved Swain second
to approve minutes.
Call to Audience
Williams issued a call to the
audience for items not on this meeting’s agenda. There was no response.
Vehicle Update
Staff reported that two new
buses had been received and had been placed in service. Both buses accommodate 12 walk-on passengers
or 2 wheelchairs and 8 walk-ons. The
wheelchair access area has been enlarged to promote safety of the driver
strapping in the chairs. The Midland
DART has been approved for nine additional buses, but the funding has not yet
been released.
A tour of the new bus was
provided for the Commission.
2005 Ridership Statistics
Yuergens presented
information comparing ridership in 2003, 2004, and 2005. The 2005 stats show 157,384 riders in 2005
compared to 148,394 in 2004.
Customer Concerns
A clicking sound in the rear
of bus #81 was identified by Commission Chair Williams.

New Business
Staff distributed the DART
Accessibility Plan which emphasizes that the same services are available to
elderly and disabled patrons as to those who are neither
elderly or disabled. Motion by
LaForest second by Williams to receive the accessibility plan for 2006. Motion carries.
2006 dates were set as 4/11,
8/29, and 11/28.
