Redevelopment and Design Study
In January 2007, Midland's Downtown Development Authority (DDA)
commissioned Hamilton Anderson Associates to design a Downtown
Redevelopment and Design Plan (the plan). The firm began preparing the
plan in April of 2007, completing it in October of
2007. Together with data from previous DDA and City of Midland studies, public
workshop opinions and designs, and preferences from study groups,
Hamilton Anderson prepared the plan, which was approved at the November 14, 2007 DDA Board
meeting.
The completed plan identifies new potential development opportunities and defines physical enhancement projects within the downtown. It
also identifies opportunities for new housing within the
downtown and methods for improving the pedestrian environment
