A. Sale of 1501 Elizabeth Street
A house at 1501 Elizabeth Street was acquired through foreclosure sale. Since taking repossession of this home, the city installed new carpet, replaced doors and countertops, completed drywall repair and painting and brought the electrical up to code. The property was listed with a local realtor on December 23, 2008. On January 12, 2009, city staff received three offers on the property. Mr. Rapanos moved to approve the sale of the house at 1501 Elizabeth Street for $87,500, with an allowance to the buyer of $2,200 for closing costs. The motion was seconded by Mr. Burgess. The motion passed unanimously.
B. Other Business
Staff informed Housing Commission members that their next regular meeting, rescheduled for March 30, 2009, was going to have a full agenda, including (1) presentation of the housing needs assessment; (2) presentation of the paired testing progress report; and (3) review of the CDBG funding proposals and setting the CDBG budget for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. A motion was made by Mrs. Hamburg and seconded by Mr. Rapanos to begin that meeting at 2:00 p.m. rather than 3:00 p.m. to allow time for the presentations. The motion passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:10 p.m.
