SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MIDLAND CITY HOUSING COMMISSION

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2013, 3:00 P.M.

CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS

 MIDLAND, MICHIGAN

 

A special meeting of the Midland City Housing Commission was held on Monday, February 4, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.  Chair Rick Loose presided.

 

PRESENT:      Rick Loose, Bob Burgess, Bill Garchow, Sharon Mortensen and Steve Rapanos

 

ABSENT:       None

 

STAFF:           Brad Kaye, Director of Planning and Community Development and Jeff Burdick, Community Development Planner

 

Chair Rick Loose welcomed all representatives of the organizations applying for CDBG funding in the 2013/2014 fiscal year and provided an overview of the meeting format.  Each presenter is asked to limit their presentation to 4 minutes so that all presentations can be heard by the Commisison in the time available.

 

Presentations from the following were received:

 

Midland County Habitat for Humanity (Jennifer Parks), Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Great Lakes Bay Region (Susan Putnam), Cleveland Manor (Trudy Laufer), Midland Area Homes (Sally York), Washington Woods (Candace Balis), Midland County Educational Service Agency (Erin Lauderbach), Open Door (Sue LaBean), Safe and Sound Child Advocacy Center (Nicki Smith), Windover High School (Gina Wilson), Arnold Center (Charlie Mackey), Community Mental Health for Central Michigan (Katie Kring), Education and Training Connection (Kris Brunner), Midland County Former Offender Advocacy and Rehabilitation (Rob Worsley), Reece Endeavor (Elaine Popovich), West Midland Family Center (Susan Love), The Legacy Center for Community Success (Jennifer Heronema), Omega-Alpha Club (Billy Strawter, Jr.), Shelterhouse (Janine Ouderkirk), Safe Haven (Donna Daniels). 

 

Chair Rick Loose thanked all presenters for attending and providing their input for Housing Commission consideration.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 4:42pm.
