Meeting called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Chairperson Frank Altimore.

Minutes of November 3, 2009
Jurado motioned, Steidemann seconded to receive minutes of the meeting of November 3, 2009. Motion passed 8-0.
Call to Audience
Parks Master Plan Public Hearing: Rob Eggers from Spicer Group presented a review of the Parks & Recreation Master Plan process to date, including the goals and action items developed following the public input process. A public hearing was held following Mr. Eggers’ presentation to receive input on the proposed plan. One resident expressed interest in further development of Central Park, looking for creative funding opportunities as budgets continue to shrink, and developing a forestry plan for City Forest and Barstow Woods.
Altimore recommend via resolution the adoption of the proposed Parks & Recreation Master Plan by the City Council. Motion passed 9-0.
Proposed Recreation Fee Public Hearing: Murphy reviewed the proposed recreation fees as presented to the Commission at their November meeting. A public hearing was conducted with no public comments offered. Martin motioned to recommend the fees as proposed to City Council at the upcoming joint meeting with the Parks and Recreation Commission and the City Council. Steidemann seconded. Motion passed 9-0.
Forestry Division Update: In following the Commission’s working plan for FY09/10, Murphy gave an informational presentation about the forestry division of the Parks Department. Martin suggested the city consider tree maintenance beyond trimming that would address disease and pest issues, and a plan for forested areas at Barstow Woods.
Motioned by Jurado, seconded Carlson to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed 9 – 0. Meeting adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
