MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION,
WHICH TOOK PLACE ON TUESDAY, JULY 23, 2002, 7:00 P.M.,
COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, MIDLAND, MICHIGAN
1. Roll Call

2. Approval
of the minutes of the meeting of July 9, 2002
Senesac
moved approval of the minutes of the meeting of July 9, 2002 with Slicker
supporting the motion. Commissioners
Slicker and Wieland noted that Wieland did not attend the meeting and that
Commissioner Senesac voted in support of SP No. 214. The minutes were approved as corrected by an
affirmative vote of all members except Svenson who abstained.

Zoning Petition No. 493 – initiated by Birchwood Pointe Apartments to zone property at the
northwest corner of Wheeler Street and Swede Avenue from Business-A to
Residential-B.
Mr. Lynch provided a brief review of the public hearing conducted for
this petition on July 9th. He
confirmed that Wood Pointe Drive is a private street.
Commissioners discussed the fact that this request would make a parcel of
vacant property that has been available on the market for quite some time,
productive. They also felt that the
potential use of the property in a Residential-B classification would be
compatible with surrounding uses.
It was moved by Wieland and seconded by Max to recommend to City Council
approval of Zoning Petition No. 493. The
vote proceeded as follows:
YEA: Baker, Dowling, Geisler,
Kozakiewicz, Max, Senesac, Slicker, Svenson, Wieland
NAY: None
ABSENT: None
