MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION,

WHICH TOOK PLACE ON THURSDAY, APRIL 13, 2006, 6:30 P.M.,

COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, MIDLAND, MICHIGAN

1. Roll Call

PRESENT: Eyre, Gaynor, Jocks, Mead, Rapanos, Senesac and Svenson (6:40)

ABSENT: Kozakiewicz

OTHERS PRESENT: Jon Lynch, Assistant City Manager and Daryl Poprave, City Planner.

2. Training Topic

Conditional Rezoning. Mr. Lynch provided the Commission with a presentation outlining the definition, legislative history, and regulatory implication of conditional rezoning. Commissioners were also presented with draft ordinance language that would introduce the conditional rezoning tool into the City of Midland Zoning Ordinance.

After discussing how conditional rezonings would be considered by the Planning Commission and City Council, the Commission requested that this matter be presented for formal consideration and action.

Adjournment at 8:30 p.m. was unanimously approved.
