Common Complaints/Concerns
Violations of the following sections of the City of
Midland
Code of Ordinances are misdemeanor offenses punishable by a fine
of up to $500.00 and/or 90 days in jail. Copies of these ordinances are available
from the City Clerk or City Attorney’s offices.
Section 3-17 - Dogs running loose: It
shall be unlawful for any person to permit or allow any dog, whether
licensed or unlicensed, to run at large or stray beyond the premises of such
owner unless under reasonable control of some person.
Section 3-18 - Barking dogs:
No person shall harbor or keep any dog which by loud or frequent or habitual
barking, yelping or howling shall cause a serious annoyance to the
neighborhood or to the people passing to and fro upon the streets.
Section 3-19 - Dog odors:
No person shall harbor or keep any dog which shall create an unpleasant odor
in the neighborhood.
Section 16-28 – Noises:
It shall be unlawful for any person to create, assist in creating, permit,
continue to permit the continuance of any unreasonable, loud, disturbing or
unnecessary noise in the city.
Some other areas of enforcement by the City
Attorney are:

The Uniform Traffic Code and
the Motor Vehicle Code, which relate to vehicular violations
within the City, such as speeding, stop light violations,
accidents, etc.
