CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:
All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be
routine and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate consideration of
these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of
the "Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated". If there is even a single
request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and
considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
* 1. Approve minutes of July 13 regular City Council meeting. KOVACEVICH
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
2. Request to close the south end of Woodlawn Street at its
intersection with North Saginaw Road, resulting in a cul-de-sac. (Also see material sent
in June 22 agenda packet.) SCHROEDER
3. Request to allow access to the north side of West Wheeler
Street approximately 300 feet west of the intersection of Jefferson Avenue. (Also see
material sent in June 22 agenda packet.) SCHROEDER
4. Request for Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificates from The Dow Chemical Company and Dow Agrosciences within the Michigan Division Dow Chemical Company Plant Rehabilitation District No. 1 relating to three new facilities and one rehabilitation facility: (Also see material sent in June 22 agenda packet.) a. Capacity expansion of one of the specialty chemical businesses. The expansion will be constructed in a new building and includes related machinery and equipment.
b. Capacity expansion in two research and development facilities. The facilities produce fine specialty chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The expansion will be constructed in existing buildings.
c. Replacement of a process dryer system in the Saran Polymers Plant. This project will utilize an existing building and includes related machinery and equipment.
d. Installation of processing equipment to manufacture two new
products. The manufacturing process will take place in three existing buildings which will
be modified to accommodate the processing of these products.
5. Proposed Master Plan for Parks and Recreation. (Also see
material sent in July 13 agenda packet.) MCGUIRE

6. Second reading and adoption of an ordinance amending the Code
of Ordinances by adding a new Division 4, Police & Fire Retirement System, of Article

7. 1998 Frantz Drive Water Main Improvement Project. (Public hearing was held at July 13 Council meeting - postponed action until July 20.):
