CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:

            All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate consideration of these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of the “Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated”.  If there is even a single request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

*          1.            Approve minutes of June 12 regular City Council meeting.  KOVACEVICH

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

            2.            Request from Dow Corning Corporation for an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate within the Dow Corning Corporation Industrial Development District relating to new machinery and equipment and land and building improvements.  (Also see material sent in June 12 agenda packet.)  ELBERS

ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS:

            3.            Second reading and adoption of an amendment to the City of Midland Sewer Rate Ordinance.  BUSH

 


RESOLUTIONS:     

            4.            Receiving and filing the Value Engineering Report for the conceptual design of the sanitary sewer improvements and setting a public hearing on the recommendations (7/17).  MCMANUS

 

            5.            Receiving and filing a report on the status of the Open Drain Cleaning project.  BUSH

 

            6.            Directing the City Manager to prepare a report on the request of the Midland County Council on Aging for a land transfer and setting a public hearing on the request (7/17).  SCHROEDER

 

            7.            Expressing City Council support for a millage request to sustain the County Connection transportation system.  MCGUIRE

 

            8.            Approving Final Plat of Ashford Estates No. 1, a residential subdivision of 8 lots on 2.5 acres on Mark Twain Drive, extended east from Fuller Drive.  SCHROEDER

 

            9.            Approving Site Plan No. 191, a 164,434 square foot retail development on 17.15 acres south of Joe Mann Boulevard and east of Midland Mall.  SCHROEDER

 

*        10.            Amending amount of the July 2000 accounts receivable roll.  ELBERS

 

*        11.            Approving purchase agreement for the sale of a CHOICE house at 300 Bradley Road.  SCHROEDER

 

          12.            Authorizing execution of a housing construction agreement with Midland Public Schools to participate in a joint residential house project at 3520 West Wackerly Street.  SCHROEDER

 

*        13.            Confirming the City Manager’s appointments to the Downtown Development Authority.  SCHROEDER

 

          14.            Considering purchases and contracts:

*                      a.            Midland Economic Development Council services.  SCHROEDER

*                      b.            Water Meters – Water Distribution.  BUSH

*                      c.            Hydro seeding – Landfill.  BUSH

*        15.            Setting a public hearing to consider Zoning Petition No. 460 – to rezone property under the ownership of Northwood University on the east side of Dublin Avenue south of the Rail-Trail from Agricultural, Residential A-1, and Residential B to Community District (7/17).  SCHROEDER
