CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:

            All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate consideration of these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of the “Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated”.  If there is even a single request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

            2.         Request from Dow Corning Corporation for an industrial facilities exemption certificate within the Dow Corning Corporation Industrial Development District relating to new machinery and equipment and land and building improvements.  The facility is intended to expand capacity for the production of silicone copolymers.  (Also see material sent in May 21 agenda packet.)  PAUL

 

            3.         2001 Mac Street Improvement Special Assessment District:

            6.         Second reading and adoption of amendments to Chapter 29, Stormwater Runoff Regulation and Control, of the City of Midland Code of Ordinances.  MAKI

 

            7.         First reading of an amendment to Chapter 22, Article II, of the Code of Ordinances, to add a new “Division 1.  In General,” and a new “Division 2, “Downtown Streetscape,” Section 22-33, “Downtown Development Authority District Public Sidewalk Use Policy.”  LYNCH

 

RESOLUTIONS:

            8.         Receiving and filing staff report on Sycamore Trees.  MCGUIRE

           

            9.         Approving the Preliminary Plat of Hearthstone Estates No. 3, a residential subdivision of 16 lots on 5.19 acres on the north side of Eastlawn Drive west of Waldo Avenue.  LYNCH

 

          10.         Accepting extended pricing from June 2000 for:  MCGUIRE

*        11.         Approving the “Short-Term Overflow Storage Basin” Agreement and Grant of Easement between the City of Midland and The Dow Chemical Company for the construction and operation of an overflow storage basin on property owned by The Dow Chemical Company and authorizing execution of these agreements.  BUSH

 

          12.         Considering purchases and contracts:

                        a.         Purchase of Insurance Coverage for 2001-02 Fiscal Year.  FISHER

*                      i.          Payment to Plante & Moran, LLP, for accounting services relating to the City’s defense in The Dow Chemical appeal to the Michigan Tax Tribunal.  BRANSON

*                      j.          Payment to Plante & Moran, LLP, for accounting services relating to the City’s defense in the Dow Corning Corporation’s appeal to the Michigan Tax Tribunal.  BRANSON

*                      k.         Agreement with Midland Economic Development Council for economic development services.  FISHER

 

          13.         Setting public hearings:

*                      a.         Zoning Petition No. 477 – rezone property at 3103 W. Wackerly Street (the south side of W. Wackerly Street east of Sturgeon Avenue) from Residential A-1 to Office-Service 2 (7/23).  LYNCH

*                      b.         Zoning Petition No. 478 – rezone property between Bay City Road and Fisher Road west of the US-10 Expressway from Agricultural and Business B-2 to Business C and Industrial A (7/23).  LYNCH
