CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:

            All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate consideration of these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of the “Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated”.  If there is even a single request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

*          1.         Approve minutes of July 9 special and regular City Council meetings.  KOVACEVICH

 

PROCLAMATIONS, AWARDS, RECOGNITIONS, PRESENTATIONS:

            2.         Presentation of plaques to the Mayor and the Wastewater Treatment Staff by Mr. David Stoltenberg, U. S. Environmental Protection Agency Region V – Chicago, in recognition of the City of Midland’s selection as the 2001 recipient of the USEPA Region V Operation & Maintenance Award.  BUSH

 

            3.         Presentation of a plaque to the City of Midland by Ms. Joy Brooks, Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, in recognition of the City’s floodplain management efforts.  LYNCH

 

 

 


PUBLIC HEARINGS:

            4.         Zoning Petition No. 477 – rezone property at 3103 W. Wackerly Street (the south side of W. Wackerly Street east of Sturgeon Avenue) from Residential A-1 to Office-Service 2.  (Also see material sent in June 25 agenda packet.)  LYNCH

 

            5.         Zoning Petition No. 478 – rezone property between Bay City Road and Fisher Road west of the US-10 Expressway from Agricultural and Business B-2 to Business C and Industrial A.  (Also see material sent in June 25 agenda packet.)  LYNCH

            6.         Request from Terry Tanner and Patrick Brown to address the City Council on the policy regarding sycamore trees.

 

ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS:

            7.         Second reading and adoption of an ordinance to implement the Michigan Construction Code and to consolidate references to building regulations.  LYNCH

 

            8.         Second reading and adoption of an amendment to the City of Midland Water Ordinance.  BUSH

 

            9.         Second reading and adoption of an amendment to the City of Midland Sewer Ordinance.  BUSH

 

          10.         First reading of an amendment to Section 17-1 of Article I of the Midland Code of Ordinances to change the number of members on the Parks and Recreation Commission from seven to nine.  MCGUIRE
