            All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate consideration of these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of the “Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated”.  If there is even a single request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.

RESOLUTIONS:

            8.            Calling upon the members of the Michigan State Legislature to vote to override Governor Engler’s veto of statutory revenue sharing funds on August 13.  FISHER

 

*          9.            Accepting Quit Claim Deeds for the area of Commerce Drive and Commerce Court.  MCMANUS

 

*        10.            Authorizing execution of a housing construction agreement with Midland Public Schools to participate in a joint project for a residential house project at 3516 W. Wackerly Street, purchase of materials and contracted services and the sale of the house upon completion.  LYNCH

 

*        11.            Authorizing execution of an agreement with Midland Economic Development Council for economic services.  FISHER

 

*        12.            Appointing delegates to the 2002 Municipal Employees Retirement System Annual Meeting.  FISHER

 

*        13.            Authorizing sale of surplus city equipment at an auction on September 21, 2002.   MCGUIRE

 

          14.            Making Traffic Control Orders permanent:  MCMANUS

*                      a.            R-02-06 – the 45 mph zone along N. Saginaw Road be extended to 500 ft.  west of Dublin Avenue, preceded by a “Reduced Speed 45 Ahead” sign.

*                      b.            R-02-07 – the signal at the intersection of Washington and Wheeler Streets operate in “flash” mode from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and “color” mode from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week.

*                      c.            S-02-01 – Greenwich Circle shall stop for Eastlawn Drive.

*                      d.            S-02-02 – Butterfield Drive shall stop for E. Wheeler Street.

*                      e.            S-02-03 – W. Wackerly Street shall stop for Stark Road.

*                      f.            S-02-04 – City Forest Estates Drive shall stop for Sturgeon Avenue.

*                      g.            S-02-05 – Stark Road shall stop for N. Saginaw Road.

*                      h.            S-02-06 – Northbound and southbound Pershing Street shall stop for Bay City Road and Bay City Road stop for Pershing Street, thus making a three-way stop.

*                      i.            S-02-07 – Deerwood Circle shall stop for Foster Road.

*                      j.            S-02-08 – Scenic Circle shall yield to Stillwater Lane.

*                      k.            S-02-09 – Foxwood Circle shall yield to Evergreen Street.

*                      l.            S-02-10 – Goldenwood Drive shall stop for Amberwood Court and Amberwood Court for Goldenwood Drive, thus making a three-way stop.

 

*        15.            Considering a request from the Midland Community Center to close George Street from Jefferson Avenue to Collins Street for the purpose of holding a Block Party on September 7.  DUSO
