            All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate consideration of these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of the “Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated”.  If there is even a single request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

*          1.         Approve minutes of December 13 special and regular City Council meetings.  TISDALE

            2.         Recognition of Fire Fighter Timothy A. Longlet as 2004 Fire Fighter of the Year.  HAAG

3.         Consideration of public improvement petitions and resolutions receiving and referring said requests: (Also see material sent in December 13 agenda packet).  MCMANUS

                        a.         Water Main on Letts Road from Jefferson Avenue to Commerce Drive

                        b.         Water Main on Waldo Avenue from Wheeler Street to Diamond Drive

                        c.         Sanitary Sewer on Letts Street and Sturgeon Avenue from the end of the existing sewer on Letts Street to Sturgeon Avenue and north on Sturgeon Avenue to MUGA line

                        d.         Sanitary Sewer on proposed Letts Road from Jefferson Avenue to Commerce Drive

                        e.         Sanitary Sewer on Waldo Avenue from Wheeler Street to Diamond Drive

                        f.          Street Improvement on Letts Street from end of existing pavement to Sturgeon Avenue

            4.         Receiving and filing a report from the Saginaw-Midland Municipal Water Supply Corporation on Junction Station Piping Project.  BUSH

 

            5.         Receiving and filing a report on the 2005-06 Budget Priorities Community Roundtable Discussions.  TISDALE

 

            6.         Accepting resignations from boards and commissions:

*                      a.         Troy Dowling from the Planning Commission.  LYNCH

*                      b.         Tom Lind from the Airport Advisory Commission.  MCMANUS

*                      c.         Joe Rogers from the Board of Review.  DUFORD

 

            7.         Accepting staff report on current City of Midland Boards and Commissions vacancies and directing staff to begin advertising such vacancies and accepting applications.  TISDALE

 

            8.         Accepting staff report regarding the process to amend the City Charter.  BRANSON

 

*          9.         Authorizing staff to extend health benefits and compensation to federalized employees effective January 2005.  WHITTINGTON

 

           10.         Considering purchases and contracts:

*                      a.         2004 Bay City Road Sanitary Sewer; Contract No. 19.  MCMANUS

           11.         Setting a public hearing:

*                      a.         To cause the vacation of Benson Street between St. Charles Street and Whitman Drive (1/24/05).  LYNCH

*                      b.         Amendment to the Community Development Block Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2004-05 (1/10/05).  LYNCH

*                      c.         Request from The Dow Chemical Company for an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate within the Michigan Division, Dow Chemical Company Industrial Development District No. 1, relating to new facilities (1/10/05).  DUFORD
