CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:

            All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate consideration of these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of the “Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated”.  If there is even a single request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

*          1.         Approve minutes of September 18 regular City Council meeting.  TISDALE

 

PROCLAMATIONS, AWARDS, RECOGNITIONS, PRESENTATIONS:

            2.         Fire Prevention Week – October 8 – 14.  GARCIA

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

            3.         Request from the Dow Corning Corporation for Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Certificates (Also see material sent in August 28 agenda packet):  DUFORD

                        a.         For the purchase of additional machinery and equipment for two of Dow Corning’s Core Products Businesses.

                        b.         For upgrades to the Specialty Chemical Business Chiller.

                        c.         For a new vacuum system and cylinder stations for Dow Corning’s Electronics Business.

                        d.         For the purchase of machinery and new equipment necessary for Dow Corning’s Rubber Business.

                        e.         For the addition of a site steam boiler to be located in the 400 block of Dow Corning’s Midland Plant.

                        f.          For various improvements at Dow Corning’s Midland Plant, including an electrical upgrade in Building 2702 and an upgrade to the service water return line in the 300 block.

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS, IF ANY, BEFORE CITY COUNCIL.  (Please sign up with City Clerk before meeting).  This is an opportunity for people to address the City Council on issues that are relevant to Council business but are not on the agenda.

 

RESOLUTIONS:

            4.         Accepting the contribution of the Entranceway Initiative Task Force to the City of Midland of wayfinding signage and authorizing the placement of said signage in the public right of way.  MCGUIRE

 

            5.         Authorizing execution of an option to buy 4.4 acres of excess vacant City property located at the northeast corner of S. Saginaw Rd. and Waldo Ave. by Midland Tomorrow.  BUSH

 

*          6.         Receiving report on the revised entry drive modifications on the State Street side of the Great Lakes Loons baseball stadium.  POPRAVE

 

*          7.         Approving a request to hold a Family Safety Day in the Tridge/Farmers Market area on October 14.  DUSO

 

*          8.         Approving a request to conduct a Lunch at the Circle event on October 14.  DUSO

 

*          9.         Approving New Asphalt Road and Repair Work, Bid No, 2971 – Landfill.  BUSH
