CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:

            All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate consideration of these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of the “Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated”.  If there is even a single request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

*          1.         Approve minutes of March 10 regular City Council meeting.  TISDALE

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

            2.         Brownfield Redevelopment Plan for Hotel Holdings Cinema, L.L.C. (Also see material sent in February 25 agenda packet).  DUSO

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS, IF ANY, BEFORE CITY COUNCIL.  (Please sign up with City Clerk before meeting).  This is an opportunity for people to address the City Council on issues that are relevant to Council business but are not on the agenda.

 

RESOLUTIONS:

            3.         Acknowledging the grant of $4,300 to MCTV from the Michigan Baseball Foundation.  BEACOM

 

            4.         Considering reappointment of incumbents to boards and commissions and establishing a timeline for filling remaining vacancies.  TISDALE

 

*          5.         Accepting a Water Main Easement and a Storm Water Facilities Easement at the Firehouse Car Wash site on Joe Mann Boulevard.  MAKI


 

*          6.         Accepting five new streets into the City of Midland Local Street System.  MCMANUS

 

            7.         Approving the placement of MDOT-contracted trailblazer signage on:  MAKI

*                      a.         Patrick Road between Saginaw Road and Swede Avenue

*                      b.         Eastman Avenue between US-10 and Joe Mann Boulevard

 

*          8.         Making Traffic Control Order S-08-01 permanent – that Allen Street shall stop for Reardon Street.  MAKI

 

*          9.         Approving request to utilize the lawn area outside of the Farmers Market entryway from May – October 2008.  DUSO

 

*        10.         Approving request to hold the Chad Schieber Memorial Run on October 18, 2008, utilizing the public rights of way.  DUSO

 

*        11.         Approving request from the Great Lakes Loons to hang banners on the light poles in the downtown area.  DUSO

 

*        12.         Approving the request to hold “The Trapeze Experience” near the Farmers Market on September 4 – 8, 2008.  DUSO

 

          13.         Considering purchases and contracts:

*                      a.         2008 Pavement Marking Program; Contract No. 16.  MAKI

*                      b.         2008 Sugnet Road Reconstruction and Water Main; Contract No. 2.  MAKI

*                      c.         2008 Surface Treatment and Crack Sealing Program; Contract No. 4.  MAKI

*                      d.         Two greens mowers.  MURPHY

 

*        14.         Setting a public hearing on a request from The Dow Chemical Company to establish an Industrial Development District (4/28).  DUFORD
