CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:

            All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate consideration of these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of the “Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated”.  If there is even a single request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

*          1.         Approve minutes of November 17 regular City Council meeting.  TISDALE

 

PROCLAMATIONS, AWARDS, RECOGNITIONS, PRESENTATIONS:

            2.         Presentation by Kezziah Watkins on results of the budget survey and budget roundtable discussions held with the community and city employees and resolution accepting the report.  TISDALE

 

            3.         Presentation by MDOT and grant application for intersection roundabout improvement at Eastman Avenue and Saginaw Road.  MCMANUS

 

            4.         Presentation on the 2009 Citizens Academy.  TISDALE

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

            5.         Conditional Use Permit No. 32 – request of Brittany Real Estate Company, LLC for a 16,983 square foot building addition to an existing nursing home in a Residential B zoning district at 3615 E. Ashman St. on 10 acres (Also see material sent in November 17 agenda packet).  BAKER

 

            6.         Conditional Use Permit No. 33 – request of Midland County Habitat for Humanity for the construction of a 988 square foot single family dwelling in a Residential B zoning district at 309 E. Grove St. (Also see material sent in November 17 agenda packet).  BAKER

*          7.         Approving the Midland County Hazard Mitigation Plan.  DUSO

 

*          8.         Receiving and filing the 2008 Construction Progress Report.  MCMANUS

 

            9.         Receiving petitions and requests for capital projects and referring them to the Engineering Department for consideration of inclusion in the 2009 Construction Program:  MCMANUS

*                      a.         Water Main on Waldo Avenue from Wheeler Street to north side of US-10

*                      b.         Sanitary Sewers on Dublin Avenue from 600 feet north of Countryside Drive to north of Rail-Trail

*                      c.         Sanitary Sewer on Waldo Avenue from Wheeler Street to north side of US-10

*                      d.         Paved Trail on east side of Jefferson Avenue from Soccer Drive to credit union sidewalk

*                      e.         Paved Trail through Stratford Woods Park from Patrick Road to Ashman Street

 

*          10.       Authorizing the City of Midland to become a formal member of the Central Michigan Mutual Aid Reciprocal Law Enforcement Agreement.  LANE

 

*          11.       Recommending approval of the request from HIH, Inc. for a new Resort Economic Development B-Hotel Liquor License with Dance-Entertainment Permit to be located at 810 Cinema Drive.  DUSO

 

            12.       Recommending approval of the request to transfer ownership of a Class C licensed business with Entertainment Permit, located at 6801 Eastman Avenue (Damon’s):  DUSO
