CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTING CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS:

            All resolutions marked with an asterisk are considered to be routine and will be enacted by one motion.  There will be no separate consideration of these items unless a Council member or citizen so requests during the discussion stage of the “Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda as indicated”.  If there is even a single request the item will be removed from the consent agenda without further motion and considered in its listed sequence in regular fashion.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

*          1.         Approve minutes of May18 regular City Council meeting.  TISDALE

 

PROCLAMATIONS, AWARDS, RECOGNITIONS, PRESENTATIONS:

            2.         Recognition of the H. H. Dow High School Girls’ Tennis Team.  RICHART

 

            3.         Amateur Radio Awareness Week – June 22–29, and Amateur Radio Day – June 28.  RICHART

 

            4.         Accepting and acknowledging receipt of a “Class 5” Floodplain Management Rating Plaque from the FEMA Community Rating System Program.  BAKER

            5.         Landfill Gas to Energy Project (Also see material sent in April 27 agenda packet).  BUSH

ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS:

            6.         Introduction and first reading of an ordinance amendment:  BUSH

                        a.         Sec. 28-52 of Division 3 of Article II of Chapter 28 – Water Rates. 

                        b.         Sec. 28-163 of Division 3 of Article III of Chapter 28 – Sewer Rates.

 

RESOLUTIONS:

            7.         Approving the Final Plat of Scenic Estates No. 7 – a residential subdivision of 29 lots on 15.34 acres located east of Jefferson Avenue and south of Wackerly Street.  BAKER

 

            8.         Receiving and filing the report on the boards and commissions interview process.  TISDALE

 

            9.         Accepting a grant of $2,500 from the Midland Area Community Foundation for the purpose of conducting a League of American Bicyclists, Bicycle Friendly Community Workshop.  BAKER

 

*        10.         Approving purchase of property located at 1005 North Street.  BAKER

 

          11.         Approving the levy of taxes for the July 2009 tax roll:  ELBERS

*                      a.         Midland Public Schools

*                      b.         Midland County Educational Service Agency

*                      c.         Bay City Public Schools

*                      d.         Bay-Arenac Intermediate Schools

*                      e.         Delta College

 

*        12.         Approving the levy of taxes for the July 2009 tax roll for special assessments and accounts receivable.  ELBERS

 

*        13.         Confirming the City Manager’s reappointment of Greg Adkins and Dave Ginis to the Corridor Improvement Authority.  BAKER

 

*        14.         Approving requests from Oscars Restaurant and The H Hotel for a Temporary Outdoor Service Liquor License.  DUSO

 

*        15.         Approving request from the Midland Area Chamber of Commerce to place signs in the public right-of-way on June 18.  DUSO

 

          16.         Considering purchases and contracts:

*                      a.         Amendment to the 2009-2010 Community Development Block Grant Budget to reflect the additional funding from the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009” (6/22).  BAKER

*                      b.         Accepting the 2009 Sidewalk Improvement Special Assessment District Special Assessment Roll and setting a public hearing on the Roll (7/13).  ELBERS
