January 30, 2006
A joint special meeting of the City Council and the Aviation Advisory Commission was held on Monday, January 30, 2006, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall. Mayor Johnson presided.
Councilmen present: Thomas Adams, Bruce Johnson, Hollis McKeag, James Myers, Joseph Rokosz
Councilmen absent: None
Aviation Advisory Commission members present: Matt Janson, James Pollack, Nathaniel Woodruff
Aviation Advisory Commission members absent: Stuart Bergstein, Richard Siemer
BARSTOW AIRPORT
Aviation Advisory Commission
member James Pollack gave a presentation on the benefits of Barstow Airport.
City Engineer Brian McManus made
presentations on Barstow’s commitments to the Federal Aviation Administration,
on the airport budget and subsidy, and on the airport’s five-year capital plan.
Chuck Hepenstal, 1317 N. Parkway,
encouraged Council to move the funding of Barstow Airport into more of an
Enterprise Fund category and to look at the makeup of the members on the commission
to insure it follows membership as prescribed by the City Charter.

The following resolution was offered by Councilman Myers and seconded by Counncilman Rokosz:
