MASTER PLAN REVIEW

Director of Planning and Community Development Keith Baker introduced Bradd Strader and Robert Kramer of LSL Planning who provided an overview of the new Master Plan document.

Bill Johnson, owner of Johnson Flowers located at 3535 E. Ashman Street, expressed his objections to the new Master Plan making any properties a non-conforming use status.

Curt Peterson, 2000 Candlestick Lane, noted he had participated in the Meetings in a Box input opportunities for the Master Plan revision and in several public hearings, he is also a member of the Safe Trails and Roads for Pedestrians and Cyclists (Star Pac) and Tri-City Cyclists Club, extended his gratitude for the City’s consideration of integrating safe trails and roads for cyclists in new road construction plans and encouraged the City to further consider accommodating alternate forms of transportation, i.e. bicycle paths or additional footage on roadway for pedestrians and cyclists.  The proposed language currently says future construction “should consider” these things but doesn’t require it.  He encouraged City Council to give more emphasis requiring safe travel accommodations for alternate forms of transportation.

Being no further business the meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
