A special meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, April 30, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall. Mayor Johnson presided.

Fiscal Services Director David Keenan presented an overview of the
Cable Communications Fund. Judy Kuehl,
Midland, thanked City Council for their consideration of the Cable
Communications Fund and spoke in support of the MCTV service. Linda Malekadeli, 3108 Sweetbrier, spoke in
support of MCTV and commented on all that the Friends of MCTV are working on to
help raise money and continue the MCTV services as it currently exists.
Planning and Community Development Director Keith Baker spoke regarding
senior housing budget issues.
Geographic Information Systems Manager Tony Foisy presented a report
and budget information on the City’s Geographic Information System Fund.
Director of Public Services Martin McGuire outlined the operational
changes in the proposed Currie Golf Course Fund.
Utilities Director Noel Bush presented operational and capital
highlights from the Water and Wastewater Funds.
CANCER WALK
Assistant City Manager Jack Duso presented a request from the Michigan
District Optimist Organization to conduct a Cancer Walk on May 5, 2007. The following resolution was then offered by
Councilman McKeag and seconded by Councilman Adams:
RESOLVED, that the request from
the Michigan District Optimist Organization to hold a One Mile Walk on
Saturday, May 5, 2007, beginning at 4:30 p.m., utilizing the public
right-of-way, is hereby approved subject to the following conditions:
