Held a public hearing on the City Managers Proposed 1998-99 Budget.
Accepted Valerie Rossmans resignation from the Merit System Board.
Accepted an easement agreement from Midland Place Associates for public water main.
Approved Site Plan No. 167 - Tamarack Apartments.
Approved Site Plan No. 168 - Hearthstone Duplexes.
Approved the negotiated contract settlement between the City of Midland and the Police Officers Association of Michigan.
Authorized the sale of unclaimed personal property held by the Police Department and other departmental surplus items at a public auction to be held May 2, 1998.
Awarded bid for paver-applied bituminous materials to Valley Asphalt Company at the unit price of $55.00 per ton; Valley Asphalt received the bid for furnishing and loading hot mix bituminous materials onto City trucks at a cost of $22.92 per ton and awarded the contract for "Sylvax" patching material to Midland Contracting at a cost of $53.50 per ton.
Accepted the bid from Fisher Sand & Gravel to furnish a twelve-month supply of concrete and related materials.
Awarded the bid for the annual supply of road gravel to Fisher Sand & Gravel; bid for crushed limestone to Chippewa Contracting; and the bid for recycled concrete pavement to Briggs Contracting.
Awarded bid for the annual supply of sand loaded onto City trucks to Chippewa Contracting, Inc. at a cost of $1.50/cu. yd. and awarded the bid for the annual supply of sand delivered to pre-determined sites to Doc Heinz Contracting, Inc. at a cost of $3.63 cu. yd.
Authorized purchase of ice control salt for the 1998-99 winter season through the State of Michigan Extended Purchasing Program.
Approved the request from the Office of the Governor for use of amplified sound at the Tridge area on May 8, 1998.
Approved the request from the Mackinac Center for Public Policy to close Main Street between Ashman and Gordon Streets on Friday, June 5, 1998, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Approved the request from the Gold Wing Road Riders Association to conduct a Light Parade on Saturday, July 18, 1998.
Set a public hearing for May 11, 1998, at 7:30 p.m. to receive input on the use of Community Development Block Grant Funds for fiscal year 1998-99.
Set a public hearing for May 18, 1998, at 7:30 p.m. to hear comments on Zoning Text Amendment No. 132A.
Set a public hearing for June 8, 1998, at 7:30 p.m. to hear comments on the request to abandon road right of way/easement from Cinema Drive to a point approximately 340 feet west of Jefferson Avenue.
