Regular meeting of the City Council was held Monday, May 17, 1999. Mayor Black presided.

Proclaimed May 22-28, 1999 as Safe Boating Week in Midland.
Held a public hearing and determined the necessity for the 1999 Sidewalk Improvement Program.
Held a public hearing and approved Zoning Petition No. 440 - zoning lands in the Sandow Road area to Residential A-1 and Office-Service 2.
Held a public hearing and approved Zoning Petition No. 441 - zoning 1.19 acres on the southwest corner of Vance and Penrod Roads to Residential A-1.
Held a public hearing and approved Zoning Petition No. 442 - zoning two acres on the east side of Dublin Avenue north of Airport Road to Residential A.
Held a second reading and approved amendments to the Stormwater Runoff Regulation and Control Ordinance.
Approved the 1999-2000 City of Midland Budget.
Made appointments to various City of Midland Boards and Commissions.
Approved the Water Service Agreement between the City of Midland and Midland Township.
Received and ordered filed a report on orders to disconnect downspouts and roof drains.
Approved Site Plan No. 178 for Hedgewood Place Apartments.
Approved Site Plan No. 180 for Arrow Cove off Schuette Road in Eastwick Industrial Park. (Yeas: Coppage, Moolenaar, Tysse Nays: None Abstained: Black)
Gave tentative and final approval to the Preliminary Plat of Scenic Estates No. 5.
Authorized execution of an addendum to the purchase agreement for the Kroger & Hooks Drug Store building between the City of Midland and RGS & Assoc. Inc.
Set a public hearing on June 7, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. to receive comments on Zoning Petition No. 443.
Set a public hearing on June 7, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. to receive comments on the establishment of a Local Development Finance Authority and on the establishment of a Brownfield Redevelopment Authority.
