Proclaimed September 3 - 6, 1999, as Midwest Tandem Rally Weekend in Midland.
Accepted the Midyear Progress Report for the City Safety Program.
Recognized Harold Berg as the recipient of the third annual City Managers Safety Leadership Award.
Authorized staff to implement the Informational Campaign & Citizen Involvement Process for the Sanitary Sewer Phase 3 report. (Yeas: Black, Moolenaar, Tysse Nays: Coppage)
Held a public hearing and approved the Administrative Consent Order between the Department of Environmental Quality and the City of Midland.
Accepted Hubbell, Roth and Clarks proposal for engineering services for a 43.5 MG Retention Basin at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in an amount not to exceed $371,800.
Held a public hearing and approved Zoning Text Amendment No. 136A - Fences.
Held a public hearing and approved Zoning Petition No. 446 zoning property located south of West Wackerly Street and west of Dublin Avenue to Residential A-1.
Approved Site Plan No. 183 south side of Schuette Road west of Waldo Avenue.
Established a Local Development Finance Authority and designated said District.
Approved annexation of property on the west side of Vance Road north of Isabella Street from Homer Township.
Approved annexation of property northeast of the intersection of Perrine Road and Letts Road from Larkin Township.
Accepted the donation of a water truck from Midland Area Chamber of Commerce.
Accept a gift from the Midland County Education Service Agency for the expansion of the bus parking area on Jefferson Avenue.
Adopted the name Trilogy Skate Park for the new skating facility in Chippewassee Park.
Approved assignment of Land Lease for Hangar Site 03E to Elaine Chalup and John Marvin.
Accepted Sanitary Sewer and Access Easements for Midland Mall Forcemain Sewer.
Authorized execution of a Partnership Agreement with Midland Public Schools for a residential and commercial building maintenance joint training project.
Authorized purchase order to Wieland Sales of Bay City, Michigan for the purchase of two salt trucks in the net amount of $104,567.68.
Authorized the execution of a contract with Pats Gradall Service, Inc. of Midland, Michigan for the "1999 Downtown Storm Sewer Improvements; Contract No. 15", in the amount of $193,813.50.
Authorized the execution of a contract with Genesis Contracting, Inc. of Perrysburg, Ohio for "1999 Barstow Airport Fuel Tank Replacement; Contract No. 23", in the amount of $56,054.50.
Authorized purchase order to Gay Excavating of Midland, Michigan for soil fill, excavating and grading for Hillside Subdivision in the amount of $50,500.
Authorized purchase order to Valley Carpet of Bay City, Michigan for replacement carpet and tile at Washington Woods in the amount of $26,442.
Authorized purchase order to Etna Supply Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan for brass water service fittings in the amount of $25,274.78.
Authorized a purchase order to MI Pipe & Valve Company of Carrollton, Michigan for water service fittings in the amount of $36,721.50.
Authorized a purchase order to Reinharts Landscaping Inc. of Decatur, Indiana for Landfill Hydroseeding in an amount not to exceed $23,000.
Authorized a purchase order to Johnston Contracting of Midland, Michigan for Landfill Scraper/Pan Rentals with Operators in an amount not to exceed $58,520.
Authorized the execution of a contract with Norlight Telecommunications, Inc. for Telecommunications License Agreement.
Approved request from the Artwalk Committee for a food court on public right of way during Artwalk Celebration to be held on Friday, August 27, 1999.
Approved request to conduct a Motorcyclist Rights Procession and Rally with amplified sound on Saturday, September 11, 1999.
Set a public hearing for September 13, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. to consider amending the 1998 - 1999 Downtown Development Authority Budget.
