Held a public hearing and approved a request from the Dow Corning Corporation for an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate. (Yeas: Black, Coppage, Currie Nays: None Abstained: Wazbinski)
Held a second reading and approved an amendment to the City of Midland Sewer Rate Ordinance.
Received and filed the Value Engineering Report for the conceptual design of the sanitary sewer improvements and set a public hearing for July 17, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. to receive comments on the recommended changes.
Received and filed a report on the status of the Open Drain Cleaning project.
Directed the City Manager to prepare a report on the request from Midland County Council on Aging for a land transfer and set a public hearing for July 17, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. to receive comments on the transfer.
Supported millage request to sustain the County Connection transportation system.
Approved Final Plat of Ashford Estates No. 1.
Approved Site Plan No. 191 for retail development on the south side of Joe Mann Boulevard east of the Midland Mall.
Amended the accounts receivable roll for July 2000.
Approved the purchase agreement for the sale of a C.H.O.I.C.E. house at 300 Bradley Road.
Authorized execution of an agreement with Midland Public Schools to participate in a joint residential house project.
Approved the reappointment of Doug Chapman and Margaret Riecker and the appointment of David Ramaker to the Downtown Development Authority.
Authorized execution of an agreement between the City of Midland and the Midland Economic Development Council for economic development services.
Approved purchase of water meters from Etna Supply Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan for a total cost not to exceed $110,000.
Approved change order to the City’s Landfill Hydro Seeding Contract with Reinhart’s Landscaping, Inc. for a revised total contract amount not to exceed $57,500.
Authorized purchase of consulting engineering services from Black & Veatch Corporation of Detroit, Michigan for the evaluation of the Midland Water Treatment Plant relative to compliance with upcoming changes in drinking water regulations at a cost not to exceed $21,795.
Hired Ayres Associates for engineering inspection during the reconstruction of North Saginaw Road from Drake Street to Eastman Avenue at a cost of $31,600.
Authorized execution of a contract with Terry Construction, Inc. of Hamilton, Ohio for the 2000 Surface Treatment Program in an amount not to exceed $160,000.
Set a public hearing for July 17, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. to consider Zoning Petition No. 460 – rezoning property on the east side of Dublin Avenue south of the Rail-Trail.
Authorized execution of Change Order No. 1 to the 2000 Local Street Reconstruction; Contract No. 6 in the amount of $36, 400.
