A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, March 19, 2001. Mayor Black presided with all Council members present.
Heard presentation on the 2001 Boards and Commissions Recruitment Process.
Heard report on the City Safety Program.
Held a public hearing and approved Zoning Petition No. 475 – zoning property on the east side of Dublin Road north of Airport Road to Residential A-1.
Held first reading of an amendment to the Code of Ordinances that would add a new article establishing an advisory body to the City Council to be known as the Library Board.
Held first reading of an ordinance establishing the City of Midland Parking Meter Rates Ordinance.
Held first reading of an ordinance amending Section 20-56 of Article III of Chapter 20 pertaining to advance payment districts.
Held first reading of an amendment to the preamble of Ordinance No. 1485 adopting the Uniform Traffic Code and its amendments.
Held second reading and adopted ordinances amending Civic Arena fees and Golf Course fees.
Directed City Manager to prepare a preliminary report for a special assessment district under the Shopping Area Redevelopment Act for the Shopping Area Redevelopment District.
Approved Site Plan No. 201 for Granite Club Acres.
Approved annexation of property on the east side of Dublin Road north of Airport Road from Larkin Township.
Received and filed the City Manager’s and Police Department’s Reports on the Annual Review of Class C, D and Resort Liquor Licenses.
Directed City Attorney to prepare an ordinance amendment to create a single Construction Board of Appeals.
Authorized purchase of services from Boice Bird & Sons, Inc. of Saginaw Michigan for the Tridge Staining Project in the amount of $63,400.
Authorized purchase of water main fittings from East Jordan Iron Works of Sunfield, Michigan in the amount of $46,268.50.
