Proclaimed week of October 7-13, 2001 as Fire Prevention Week in Midland.
Held second reading and denied an amendment to the Code of Ordinances to establish term limits of the members of the Parks and Recreation Commission. (Yeas: Coppage Nays: Black, Currie, McKeag, Wazbinski)
Held first reading of an amendment to Section 22-2 of Article I of Chapter 22 of the Code of Ordinances to provide for proper placement of Reflective Address Signs.
Held first reading of an amendment to Section 34-5 of Chapter 34 of the Code of Ordinances to include violations of Section 22-2 of Article I of Chapter 22 as civil infraction violations.
Approved Final Plat of Hearthstone Estates No. 3.
Authorized execution of a contract with Sova & Sons Contracting, Inc. of Midland, Michigan, for the “2001 Gerald Court Water Main Replacement; Contract No. 4”, in the amount of $22,548.
Authorized execution of Change Order No. 1 to the 2001 Ashman Force Main Sewer; Contract No. 25 in the amount of a net contract increase of $121,699.
Authorized purchase of two tilt-cab dump trucks from Voice Motor Sales of Kalkaska, Michigan in the net amount of $50,968.
Authorized purchase of a tandem axle truck tractor from Wieland Sales of Bay City, Michigan in the net amount of $59,234.78.
Authorized purchase of a snow plow truck from Wieland Sales of Bay City, Michigan in the net amount of $57,540.50.
Set a public hearing of necessity for October 8, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. for the 2001 Bogel Drive Improvement.
Set a public hearing for October 8, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. on the establishment of a Plant Rehabilitation District for McKay Press, Inc.
