MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL
A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, November 19, 2001. Mayor Black presided with all Council members present.
Presented the Bette R. Tollar Civic Commitment Award to the Midland Area Community Foundation and The Dahlia Hill Society.
Approved Site Plan No. 209 for a dental facility on the southeast corner of Eastman Avenue and Dilloway Drive.
Received the 2001 Local Officers’ Compensation Commission Determinations Report.
Referred request to close Goldenwood Drive at Hedgewood Drive to City Engineer, Planning Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Director of Utilities, and Director of Public Services for review and recommendations.
Approved a speed study for The Dow Chemical Company within the city limits and entirely on The Dow Chemical Company property.
Readopted the City of Midland Investment Policy, adopted a Qualified Bidders List for investments, and authorized City Treasurer to execute agreements with said Qualified Institutions.
Received and placed on file the 2001 Saginaw/Midland Municipal Water Supply Corporation Annual Financial Statements and Auditor’s Report.
Authorized increase to purchase order to Merrick Environmental Technology, Inc. of Lynn Haven, Florida, for the purchase of three Lime Slakers, in the amount of $8,450 increasing the total amount to $197,163.
Approved resolution urging Representative Stamas to oppose Senate Bill No. 759.
Approved payment to Midland Conservation District for Sturgeon Creek Watershed Project, in the amount of $36,500.
Discussed filling vacancy on the West Main Street Historic District Commission.
