MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL
A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, December 9, 2002. Mayor Black presided with all Council members present.
Heard presentation, received and filed the City of Midland Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the year ended June 30, 2002.
Held a public hearing and approved the boundaries of the Brownfield Redevelopment Zone.
Held a public hearing and approved the Brownfield Redevelopment Plan.
Held a public hearing and approved a Cable Communications Fund budget amendment.
Held second reading and adopted an ordinance amending Sec. 15-223 of the Code of Ordinances, Application Required; fee.
Approved Site Plan No. 219 – Alpine Mobile Home Village – Phase II.
Received petitions and requests for public improvements and referred them to the Engineering Department for consideration of inclusion in the 2003 Construction Program.
Approved negotiated contract extension between the City of Midland and the Midland Municipal Supervisory Employees Association for a two-year period.
Received and filed the 2003-04 City of Midland Budget Preparation Schedule.
Authorized the execution of MDOT Contract No. 02-5503 for the reconstruction of Bay City Road from CSX Railroad tracks to Rockwell Drive.
Set a public hearing on January 13, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoning Petition No. 497 – rezoning property north of Oakbrook Court, east of Jefferson Avenue from Township Zoning to Residential A-1.
Set a public hearing on January 13, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoning Petition No. 498 – rezoning property west of Perrine Road, south of Letts Street from Township Zoning to Residential A-1.
Set a public hearing on January 13, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoning Petition No. 499 – rezoning property west of Abbott Road, north of Betsey Drive, south of Alta Court from Residential A-2 to Residential A-4.
Set a closed session for January 7, 2003, at 4:00 p.m. to discuss the City Manager’s annual job performance review.
Set a closed session for January 8, 2003, at 4:00 p.m. to discuss the City Attorney’s annual job performance review.
Council directed the City Manager to explore and make recommendations to Council on the possibility of the City of Midland intervening in a lawsuit filed by various environmental groups against the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality on the subject of the proposed consent order with The Dow Chemical Company.
