MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL
A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, January 27, 2003. Mayor Black presided with all Council members present.
Held second reading and approved an ordinance providing Payment In Lieu of Taxes for Chippewassee Court Phase II. (Yeas: Black, Currie, McKeag, Wazbinski Nays: None Abstained: Griggs)
Directed staff to negotiate contract with Suburban Hockey of Novi, Michigan, to provide professional consulting services for a new Civic Arena.
Approved purchase agreement for the sale of a house at 3512 West Wackerly Street for $143,000.
Authorized execution of an agreement to extend the term of the Cable Franchise Agreement for an additional six months.
Approved a one-year extension of time for completion of sidewalk in Wintergreen Estates No. 12.
Approved a two-year extension of time for completion of sidewalk in Hearthstone Estates Subdivision No. 2.
Approved a one-year extension of time for completion of sidewalk in Woodview Pass Estates No. 1.
Approved a one-year extension of time for completion of sidewalk in Woodview Pass No. 4 on lots 36, 37, 41, 43, 44 and 47.
Authorized a purchase order to Doc Heinz Contracting for the hauling of 20,000 cubic yards of washed classified sand from General Motors Corporation at a rate of $3.21 per yard.
Authorized issuance of a purchase order to Dow Howell Gilmore for electrical design services in connection with the St. Charles Softball Complex project at a cost of $26,200.
Set a public hearing for February 10, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. on Planned Unit Development No. 15 for property west of Abbott Road north of Betsey Drive and south of Alta Court.
Set a public hearing for February 10, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. on a proposed 2002-03 Washington Woods Fund budget amendment.
Gave job performance review for City Manager Karl S. Tomion and increased his annual salary to $116,000.
Gave job performance review for City Attorney James O. Branson III and increased his annual salary to $97,000.
Directed City Manager to review the City’s policy on military leave benefits.
