OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL

 

A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, January 26, 2004.  Mayor Black presided with all Councilmen present.

 

Proclaimed Saturday, April 10, 2004 as Alden B. Dow Day in the City of Midland.

 

Approved transfer of Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate 96-331 from Ingersoll CM Systems, Inc. to ICM Systems, LLC.

 

Approved Site Plan No. 234 – The Courts of Joseph’s Run.  (Yeas:  Black, Johnson, McKeag, Rokosz   Nays:  Myers)

 

Appointed Ann Heard to the Library Board to fill an unexpired term expiring June 30, 2004.

 

Reappointed Jack Duso to the Midland County Central Dispatch Authority Administrative Policy Board.

 

Accepted resignation of Lee Pelton from the Zoning Board of Appeals.

 

Authorized payment to Francis E. Moss for appraisal services in connection with The Dow Chemical Company tax appeal in a total amount not to exceed $35,000.

 

Set a public hearing for Monday, February 23, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoning Petition No. 504 – rezoning property east of Midfield Lane, south of Joseph Drive and north of Diamond Drive from Limited Commercial, Manufacturing and Research and Industrial B to Community.

 

Gave job performance review for City Manager Karl S. Tomion and increased his annual salary to $119,500.

 

Gave job performance review for City Attorney James O. Branson III and increased his annual salary to $103,500.

 

Heard presentation regarding the Midland Cogeneration Venture vs. City of Midland Tax Tribunal’s decision.

 

Adjourned to closed session to discuss pending litigation.  (Yeas:  Johnson, McKeag, Myers, Rokosz   Nays:  None   Abstained:  Black)
