MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL
A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, September 19, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Black presided with all Councilmen present.
Proclaimed October 3 – 8, 2005 as Investing in Abilities Week in Midland.
Proclaimed October 9 – 15, 2005 as Fire Prevention Week in Midland.
Authorized issuance of up to $3 million in revenue bonds by the Saginaw-Midland Municipal Water Supply Corporation for proposed improvements at its Junction Station Plant and authorized the execution of the 2005 Revenue Contract Supplement.
Accepted Easement Agreement for existing 36” water main on the north side of Bay City Road at the Valley Plaza Resort property west of US-10.
Approved request from the Midland Community Center to conduct a Hay Ride on Friday, October 7, 2005.
Authorized execution of contract with Advance Processing & Imaging of Deerfield Beach, Florida for electronic document management software and services in the amount of $152,325.
Approved Amendment No. 2 to the DLZ Michigan Inc. Agreement for professional traffic engineering services related to Eastman Avenue in the amount of $33,000.
Authorized the issuance of purchase orders for snow and ice control salt through the State of Michigan Extended Purchasing Program in the total amount not to exceed the 2005-06 budgeted sum for this purpose.
Authorized execution of change order to the Civic Arena Contract with Three Rivers Corporation in the amount of $55,761.
Set a public hearing on October 10, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. on the request from the Dow Corning Corporation for an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate.
Expressed opposition to reductions in the budgets of the Department of Labor and Economic Growth and the Department of State Police.
Adjourned to a closed session to discuss pending litigation.
