of the City Council was held on Monday, October 10, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Black presided with all Councilmen present.
Held public
hearing and approved request for an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate
from the Dow Corning Corporation.
Denied resolution
directing City Attorney to take action resulting in elimination of the
injunction against 7-Eleven prohibiting 24 hours per day of operations from May
through September. (Motion DENIED. Yeas:
None Nays: Johnson, McKeag, Myers, Rokosz Abstained:
Black)
Approved Revised
Conditional Use Permit No. 13 – Office Building on 2.69 acres on Sugnet Road
west of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail.
Approved two-year
time extension for the Tentative Approval of the Preliminary Plat of Broadhead
Estates and Reaffirming Final Approval of the Preliminary Plat of Broadhead
Estates No. 2.
Appointed Joseph
Rokosz and James Myers to take part in interviewing four teams of planning
consultants to update the City’s comprehensive plan.
Authorized
execution Michigan Department of State Contract No. 2005-0560 Design for
Barstow Airport Runway 18/36 Rehabilitation.
Authorized
execution of Professional Services Agreement with Mead and Hunt, Inc. for
Barstow Airport Runway 18/36 Rehabilitation design services.
Accepted
resignation of Jody Cooley from the Downtown Development Authority.
Confirmed City
Manager’s appointment of Jim Bessert to the Downtown Development Authority for
a term to expire May 1, 2007.
Established the
2006 regular meeting dates for the Midland City Council.
Accepted agreement
to rescind previous agreement between the Midland County Road Commission and
the City of Midland dated September 29, 2003, related to the Airport Road
Extension Project.
Accepted Warranty
Deed from the Midland County Road Commission for public roadway and necessary
public utilities associated with the Airport Road Extension Project.
Approved payment
of county road millage funds to the Midland County Road Commission for the
costs related to the purchase of road right of way for the Airport Road
Extension Project.
Authorized
reimbursement to Johnstone Contracting and Commercial Net Lease Realty for
oversizing of the water mains on Elisenal Drive and Commerce Drive.
Authorized
execution of a conservation easement for Pine River Park lands located in
Porter Township to create a wetland pre-mitigation site.
Accepted the
Annual Report of the Cable Access Advisory Commission.
Approved request
from the Midland Downtown Business Association to conduct additional activities
during the Pumpkin Festival on Thursday, October 20, 2005.
Authorized payment
to Sungard HTE for software maintenance from 9/1/2005 to 8/31/2006 in the
amount of $80,089.99.
Authorized
execution of Labor Agreement with the Midland Municipal Employees Association
for a four year period expiring June 30, 2009.
Set public hearing
for October 24, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. on a request from the Dow Corning
Corporation for an Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Certificate.
