A regular meeting
of the City Council was held on Monday, February 20, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Johnson presided with all Councilmen present.
Proclaimed
February 25, 2006 as Walk for Warmth Day in Midland.
Accepted and filed
the Midland Area Chamber of Commerce Service Sector Agreement Report.
Held public
hearing and approved an ordinance amending Section 30-5 the Downtown
Development Authority District Boundaries.
Held public
hearing and approved an ordinance amending the Downtown Development Authority
Tax Increment Financing Plan and Development Plan No. 1 as amended.
Received responses
for the Request for Proposals regarding the Midland Civic Arena and invited the
two respondents to formally present their proposals during the regular Council
meeting scheduled for March 20, 2006.
Received and filed
a report on the Meeting in a Box procedure.
Accepted the 2006
Annual Sidewalk Report.
Approved and filed
the 2006-07 Construction Project Priorities List.
Approved the
future socio-economic data for the City of Midland for use in the regional
travel demand model.
Reappointed four
members and appoints one new member to the Brownfield Redevelopment Financing
Authority.
Approved change
orders not to exceed $10,000 to the DCM Construction contract for the Fire
Station No. 1 remodel project.
Authorized
issuance of purchase order to Bentley Systems Inc. for the purchase of
SewerGEMS sewer modeling software.
Authorized
execution of Grant Agreement with the State of Michigan for the Qualified Voter
File Infrastructure Upgrade.
Set a public
hearing for March 6, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. on a proposed 2005-06 Dial-A-Ride
budget amendment.
Set a public
hearing for March 6, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. on a proposed 2005-06 Community Development
Block Grant budget amendment.
Set a public
hearing for March 6, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. on a proposed 2005-06 Major Street Fund
budget amendment.
Recognized
the Midland Explorers Boosters, Inc. as a non-profit organization for the
purpose of obtaining a charitable gaming license.
