hearing and approved the 2006 Sidewalk Improvement Special Assessment District
Special Assessment Roll.
Authorized
execution of contract with JKS, Inc. of Midland, Michigan for the “2006
Sidewalk Improvement Program; Contract No. 17”, in the amount of $23,504.
Held first reading of an ordinance to amend Section 21-70 of Division 1 of Article II of Chapter 21 for Civic Arena fees.
Received and filed
two plans for possible future development of Central Park.
Accepted the Proposed
City of Midland Permanent Street Closure Policy for Local Residential Streets
and set public hearing on said policy for July 24, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
Received and filed
a report on planning and redevelopment activities near the Ashman Circle.
Requested City
Attorney to prepare an amendment to the Code of Ordinances to require City
Council approval for all helicopter landings in accordance with Section 4-22 in
the City of Midland.
Received and filed
the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Implementation Update Report.
Approved
annexation of property located east of Stark Road and north of U.S. 10.
Approved two-year
extension of time for completion of sidewalk in City Forest Estates Subdivision
No. 1.
Denied amendment
to development agreement for City Forest Estates Subdivision No. 1. (Yeas:
None Nays: Adams, McKeag, Myers, Rokosz)
Approved two-year
extension of time for completion of sidewalk in City Forest Estates Subdivision
No. 2.

Cooperative for services to the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, in an amount not
to exceed $40,000.

authorized issuance of purchase order to Valley Library Consortium for
Automation Services for the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, in an amount not to
exceed $95,000.
Authorized
issuance of purchase order to Alexander Chemical of Lisle, Illinois for Water
Treatment Chemicals – Hydrofluosilicic Acid, in a
total contract amount of $20,196.
Authorized
issuance of purchase order to Gerace Construction Co. Inc. of Midland, Michigan
for Wastewater Treatment Plant Final Clarifier Improvements, in the amount of
$86,800.
Authorized
issuance of purchase order to Bridgeway Power of Traverse City, Michigan for
Standby Generator at the Sugnet Pump Station, in the amount of $25,537.
Authorized
issuance of purchase order to the State of Michigan’s select vendor, Snethkamp
Dodge of Lansing, Michigan for the purchase of six police patrol cars and two
mid-sized pick up trucks, in the amount of $163,618.56.
Authorized
issuance of purchase order to Red Holman GMC of Westland, Michigan for the
purchase of two tilt-cab dump trucks, in the net amount of $69,762.
Waived bids and
authorized issuance of purchase order to Wieland Sales of Bay City, Michigan
for the purchase of a dump truck, in the amount of $83,913.54.
Waived bids and
authorized issuance of purchase order to Michigan CAT of Saginaw, Michigan for
the purchase of a rubber tire excavator, in the amount of $154,965.
Authorized
increase to existing purchase order to Easton Sports, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia
for the purchase of hockey shop inventory items, up to the amount of $55,000.
Authorized
increase to existing purchase order to Bauer Nike Hockey USA of Chicago,
Illinois for the purchase of hockey shop inventory items, up to the amount of
$35,000.
Authorized
execution of contract with Saginaw Asphalt Paving Company of Saginaw, Michigan
for the “2006 Major Street Reconstruction; Contract No. 7”, in the amount of
$540,988.50.
Set public hearing
for Monday, July 24, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. on a proposed amendment to the 2006-07
Equipment Revolving Fund budget to recognize an unanticipated expenditure for
replacement of a police patrol car totaled in a recent collision.
