MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL
A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, October 9, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Johnson presided with all Councilmen present.
Proclaimed October 9 – November 9, 2006, as Community Read Time in Midland.
Held public hearing and approved an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate request from The Dow Chemical Company.
Held first reading of an ordinance amendment to increase fees associated with picnic reservations. (Yeas: Adams, Johnson, Rokosz Nays: McKeag, Myers)
Received and filed the Library Statistics and Services for 2005-2006 report.
Received the 2005-2006 Annual Report of the Cable Access Advisory Commission.
Appointed Jason Brown to the Cable Access Advisory Commission to fill a term to expire June 30, 2009.
Authorized execution of license agreement with MVCC Limited Partnership for Ashman Court Hotel Renovation and Right-of-Way Encroachment.
Accepted gift of restroom facility at the City’s baseball complex on Sturgeon Road from the Northwest Little League.
Made the following Traffic Control Order permanent:
S-06-01 Airport Road shall stop for Stark Road.
Authorized payment to Braun, Kendrick, Finkbeiner, P.L.C. and Westrate and Thomas, P.C. for contracted legal services relating to the Midland Cogeneration Venture’s tax appeal, in an amount not to exceed $5,950,000.
Authorized issuance of purchase order to Michigan CAT of Saginaw, Michigan for the purchase of an Articulated Loader, in the net amount of $101,890.
Authorized issuance of purchase order for Snow and Ice Control Salt for the 2006-07 Winter Season through the State of Michigan Extended Purchasing Program.
Set a public hearing on Monday, October 23, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. on a proposed amendment to the 2006-07 Water Fund budget.
