A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, December 18, 2006, at 7:00 p.m.  Mayor Johnson presided with all Councilmen present.


Directed staff to pursue selection of an engineering consultant and begin process of a budget transfer for associated funding for the Eastman Avenue Improvement Project.


Authorized staff to pursue a resort liquor license for Currie Golf Course.  (Yeas:  Johnson, McKeag, Myers, Rokosz   Nays:  Adams)


Accepted City Attorney opinion regarding the demolition of the Midland Civic Arena and Swimming Complex.


Approved Site Plan No. 254 to construct an 11,409 square foot medical office building at 4500 Campus Ridge Drive.


Made the following Traffic Control Order permanent:

      S-06-03     Bay City Road shall stop for Pershig Street and Pershing Street shall stop for Bay City Road, creating a three way stop and that Traffic Control Order No. S-05-01 shall be rescinded.


Authorized payment to Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone, PLC for contracted legal services relating to the Meijer tax appeal.


Authorized issuance of purchase order to Sungard HTE Incorporated for the purchase of enterprise reporting software, in the amount of $22,450.


Authorized issuance of purchase order to DCM Construction for restroom remodel at the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library, in the amount of $50,824.


Authorized issuance of purchase order for a jet fuel truck for Jack Barstow Municipal Airport at a cost of $35,000.


Authorized increase in twelve purchase orders for Vehicle Maintenance Supplies.


Set public hearing on January 22, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. on the requested street vacation of Midfield Lane from Soccer Drive to 430’ south of Joseph Drive.


Set public hearing on January 22, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. on the requested vacation of Buttles Street and Bay City Road, including sections of Sixth Street, Jefferson Avenue and Pershing Street.
