A regular meeting
of the City Council was held on Monday, February 26, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Johnson presided with all Councilmen present.
Held public
hearing and approved vacation of a portion of Austin Street, Bay City Road, and
Washington Street, including sections of 19th Street and 21st
Street.
Held public
hearing and approved 2006-07 Grace A. Dow Memorial Library Fund Budget
amendment to recognize revenues and expenditures for the newspaper digitization
project.
Held second
reading and adopted an ordinance amending Civic Arena Fees.
Held second
reading and adopted an ordinance amending Golf Course Fees.
Held second
reading and adopted an ordinance amending General Recreation Fees.
Received and filed
the 2007 Annual Sidewalk Report.
Received and filed
the 2007-08 Construction Projects Priorities List.
Received and filed
the 2006 Annual Report for the Saginaw-Midland Municipal Water Supply
Corporation.
Accepted Warranty
Deed for D & M Johnston Family, LLC for part of the right-of-way for the
extension of Letts Road.
Recommended
approval of the request from Midland Stadium Concessions, LLC for a new 12
month resort economic development Class C license with dance-entertainment
permit to be located at 835 E. Main Street.
Made the following
Traffic Control Order permanent:
P-06-31 Standing,
stopping, and parking shall be prohibited on the north side of Sugnet Road from
the crosswalk located on the west side of Baldwin Street to 50 feet east.
Authorized execution
of Change Order No. 3 to the 2006 Swede Avenue Reconstruction; Contract No. 8,
in the amount of $20,780.
Authorized payment
to Baker & O’Brien and Andrew B. Chamberlain for contracted appraisal
services relating to the Midland Cogeneration Venture’s tax appeal.
Authorized payment
to Braun, Kendrick, Finkbeiner, P.L.C. and Westrate and Thomas, P.C. for
contracted legal services relating to the Midland Cogeneration Venture’s tax
appeal.
Set public hearing
for Monday, March 12, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. on the proposed 2006-07 Downtown
Development Authority budget amendment for a Redevelopment & Design Study
for Downtown Midland.
