of the City Council was held on Monday, April 9, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Johnson presided.

hearing and approved Zoning Petition No. 541 – rezoning property at 1314 W.
Wheeler Street from Office Service to Regional Commercial zoning.
Authorized
execution of “Statement of Conditions” as required per Sec. 3 of Ordinance No. 1633.
Held public
hearing and approved an amendment to the 2006-07 Golf Course
Budget to reflect projected actual spending submitted during the 2007-08 budget
process.
Received and filed
the City Manager’s
2007-08 Proposed Budget.
Approved Site Plan
No. 255 – to construct the 25,537 square foot Sloan Building Classroom/Offices
located at 4000 Whiting Drive on 2.07 acres.
Reappointed
incumbents to various boards and commissions.
Authorized
City of Midland Fire Department to participate in the Michigan Emergency
Management Assistance Compact (MEMAC).
Made the following
Traffic Control Orders permanent:
D-070-01 The
intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Chapel Lane shall be controlled by traffic
signal operation and shall operate in full color from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
and four-way flash from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
R-07-01 Vehicular left
turns shall be prohibited to the city library off Eastman Avenue.
S-07-01 Stop control
for Main Street at State Street shall be removed and any related traffic control
orders for stop control at this intersection shall be rescinded.
S-07-02 Vehicular
traffic exiting the premises at 400 E. Main Street (Riverside Place) shall stop
for Main Street.
Approved request
from the Great Lake Loons to conduct fireworks displays on ten different dates
in 2007 at The Dow Diamonds.
Authorized
execution of contract with Saginaw Asphalt Paving Company, Inc. of Saginaw,
Michigan for the 2007 Waldo Avenue Reconstruction; Contract No. 2, in the
amount of $322,848.
Authorized
issuance of annual purchase order to BioTech
Agronomics of Benzonia, Michigan for water treatment
residuals to land application, in the amount of $61,000.
Authorized
increase to the following four purchase orders for vehicle and equipment parts
and supplies:
PO #20926 to Hoekstra Truck
up to the amount of $30,000
PO #20894 to Cummins Bridgeway up to the amount of $25,000
PO #21066 to Spartan Oil up
to the amount of $40,000
PO #20870 to Barnes
Distribution up the amount of $25,000
Received and filed
report on the “2007 Sidewalk Improvement Special Assessment District” and set a
public hearing of necessity on said district for Monday, May 7, 2007, at 7:00
p.m.
Set public hearing
for Monday, April 23, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. on a proposed amendment to the 2006-07
budgets and financial working plans.
