A regular meeting of the City Council was held on
Monday, January 7, 2008, at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Johnson presided.

Recognized Midland High
School Football Team and Coaches for an outstanding 2007 season.
Received and filed Staff Report on Parks and
Recreation Master Plan goal attainment.
Adopted a resolution of intent to create a Corridor
Improvement Authority and set a public hearing on Monday, February 11, 2008, at
7:00 p.m. for the purposed of creating the Authority and designating boundaries
of the development area.
Held second reading and approved Zoning Petition
No. 545 – MidMichigan Medical Center – to rezone property at 3200 W. Sugnet
Road from Residential A-1 to Community zoning.
Held public hearing and approved budget amendments
for the acquisition and renovation of the 4-D building and property.
Held public hearing and approved the 2007-08
Landfill Budget amendment for the buy out of a leased Komatsu WA380-5 wheel
loader.
Made the following Traffic Control Orders
permanent:
P-07-27 Parking
shall be prohibited on the northwest side of Erie Court.
P-07-30 Parking shall be prohibited on Elisenal
Drive between Joe Mann Boulevard and Commerce Drive.
S-07-09
Commerce Drive shall stop for
Jefferson Avenue.
Approved request from Molly’s Bistro for a new
Class C licensed with dance-entertainment permit and two outdoor service areas
on City property.
Approved request from Let Us Feed You – Midland,
Inc. to transfer ownership of a Class C licensed business, with Dance permit,
from Los Cuatro Amigos.
Approved request to
conduct the Highland Festival on June 14, 2008.
Approved fuel purchase
from December 20, 2007, from Hirschman Oil in the amount of $31,824.
Authorized issuance of
purchase order to Vermeer of Michigan of Jackson, Michigan for a Vac-Tron Model
PMD 550 Vacuum Excavator, in the amount of $40,800.
Set public hearing on Monday, February 11, 2008, at
7:00 p.m. on a proposed Second Amendment to The Dow Chemical Company Brownfield
Redevelopment Plan No. 1.
