MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL

A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, February 16, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Johnson presided with all Councilmen present.

Approved Site Plan No. 287 – Smith-Miner Funeral Home for a 9,216 square foot funeral home located at 2700 W. Wackerly Street.

Approved Purchase Agreement for sale of property located at 1501 Elizabeth Street.

Approved request by Midland Cogeneration Venture, LP to revise Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Certificate No. 2008-039.

Made the following Traffic Control Orders permanent:

P-08-33 Parking shall be prohibited in the cul-de-sac located at the end of Hedgewood Drive.

P-08-34 Parking shall be prohibited in the cul-de-sac located at the end of Goldenwood Drive.

S-08-07 Ted Doan Drive shall stop for T. Moore Drive.

S-08-08 Ted Doan Drive shall stop for Jefferson Avenue.

S-08-09 Alan Ott Drive shall stop for Joe Mann Boulevard.

Authorized the execution of Professional Services Contract with Crescent Consulting for Planning Consulting Services.

Authorized increase to the following purchase orders for vehicle maintenance and supplies:

PO #27074 Belle Tire up to the amount of $45,000

PO #27118 GCR Firestone up to the amount of $45,000

PO #27189 NBC Truck Equipment up to the amount of $35,000

PO #27253 Wieland Sales up to the amount of $45,000

Authorized execution of Michigan Department of Transportation Contract No. 2008-0252 for Installation of Aboveground Fuel Tank at Jack Barstow Municipal Airport.

Authorized execution of Design Services Agreement with Mead & Hunt, Inc. of Lansing, Michigan for the design of a new aboveground fuel tank and related equipment at Jack Barstow Municipal Airport.

Set public hearing on Monday, March 9, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of considering the revised Zoning Ordinance.

Set public hearing of necessity on Monday, March 9, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. on the 2009 Sandow Area Sanitary Sewer Improvement Special Assessment District.
