OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS
MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL
A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, September 14,
2009, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Johnson
presided with all Councilmen present.
Authorized execution of Labor Agreement with the
United Steelworkers of America, Local 14009, for a four-year period expiring
June 30, 2013.
Authorized sale of surplus city equipment at the
annual auction on September 19, 2009.
Made the following
Traffic Control Orders permanent:
R-09-02 The speed limit of Ted Doan Drive shall be
35 mph.
R-09-03
The speed limit of Alan Ott Drive
shall be 30 mph.
Approved request from the Midland Evangelical Free Church to use the
Farmers Market area on October 31, 2009, to hold a youth ministry outreach
event.
Waived bid requirement and approved purchase of 13,400
gallons of diesel fuel from Karbowski Oil for $26,798.66 that was executed by
the Purchasing Agent on August 19, 2009.
Waived bid requirement and approved purchase of 13,401
gallons of unleaded fuel from Karbowski Oil for $25,500.76 that was executed by
the Purchasing Agent on September 2, 2009.
Authorized issuance of purchase order to Schaefer
Systems International of Charlotte, North Carolina in the amount of $24,227.98
for residential refuse and yard waste carts.
Authorized execution of Michigan Department of
Transportation contract for State Trunkline Highway maintenance for the period
of October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2014.
Authorized execution of contract with Pyramid Paving
and Contracting Compant of Essexville, Michigan, for the “2009 Saginaw Road
Resurfacing; Contract No. 5”, in the amount of $110,797.
Set public hearing for Monday, October 5, 2009, at 7:00
p.m. on the proposed amendment to the 2009-10 City budgets and financial
working plans to provide funding for June 30, 2009 encumbrances.
