OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL

 

A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, March 8, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.  Mayor Donker presided with all Councilmen present.

 

Held public hearing and adopted the 2010-2014 Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

 

Held second reading and approved an ordinance amendment to repeal Section 21-3 – Refuse Collection Fees and amend Section 21-4 – Yard Waste Collection Fees.

 

Directed City Manager to prepare report on the 2010 Sidewalk Improvement Program. (Yeas:  Adams, Donker, Gaynor, Johnson  Nays:  Wazbinski)

 

Accepted cost agreements with Michigan Department of Transportation for maintenance of State trunk line signal controls in the City of Midland.

 

Approved requests for a one-year extension of time to complete Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificates for Dow AgroSciences, LLC - #2007-523, The Dow Chemical Company - #2007-524, The Dow Chemical Company - #2007-525, The Dow Chemical Company - #2007-526, and The Dow Chemical Company - #2007-528.

 

Approved request from the Downtown Development Authority and the Great Lakes Loons to hold an Opening Day Parade in the downtown area on April 11.

 

Approved request from Christian Celebration Center to hold a walkathon at Stratford Park and charge an entry fee on Saturday, May 15, 2010.

 

Set public hearing on Monday, April 12, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoning Petition No. 565 – CGX Consolidated Graphics – to rezone the property located at 1321 E. Wackerly Road from Lincoln Township B-2 to the City of Midland Industrial “A” Light Industrial zoning classification.

 

Set public hearing on Monday, March 22, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. on the request from Dow AgroSciences, LLC for an Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate application.
