OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL

 

A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, October 11, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.  Mayor Donker presided.

 

Councilmen present:

Thomas Adams, J. Dee Brooks, Maureen Donker, Bruce Johnson

Councilmen absent:

Marty Wazbinski

 

Recognized the Local Organizations on Efforts to Secure National Recognition for the Greater Midland Community as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People in America.

 

Approved Site Plan No. 296 – McLaren Dental Associates – a site plan for a 2,331 square foot addition to an existing dental office at 308 Northgate Drive.

 

Established the 2011 regular meeting dates for the Midland City Council.

 

Appointed Scott Cochran to the Cable Access Advisory Commission.

 

Approved the revised Saginaw-Midland Municipal Water Supply Corporation 2010-2011 Budget for the Capital Improvements and Emergency Repairs Fund.

 

Received and filed the 2010 Annual Financial Statements and Auditors’ Report for the Saginaw-Midland Municipal Water Supply Corporation.

 

Approved one-year time extension for completion of sidewalk in Foster Woods Subdivision No. 1.

 

Approved one-year time extension for completion of sidewalk in Foster Woods Subdivision No. 2.

 

Approved two-year time extension for completion of sidewalk in Foster Woods Subdivision No. 3.

 

Approved request to conduct Midland County Girls on the Run 5k event on November 20, 2010.

 

Waived bid requirement and approved purchase of 13,400 gallons of unleaded and 13,400 gallons of diesel fuel from Karbowski Oil for $57,539.60 that was executed by the Purchasing Agent on September 21, 2010.

 

Set public hearing on Monday, October 25, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. on the proposed 2010-11 Equipment Revolving Fund and the General Fund budget amendments to distribute auction and equipment sale proceeds.

 

Set public hearing on Monday, November 8, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoning Petition No. 572 – Schauman Development.

 

Set public hearing on Monday, November 8, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoning Text Amendment No. 152.

 

Set public hearing on Monday, October 25, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. on the request from McKay Press, Inc. for an Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Certificate within the Consolidated Graphics Industrial Development District No. 1.
