OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS

MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL

A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, February 28, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Donker presided with all Councilmen present.

Held second reading and adopted an ordinance amending Section 21-71 – Golf Course Fees.

Received and filed the 2011 Annual Sidewalk Report.

Received and filed the City Manager’s Report on the Annual Review of Class C, D, and Resort Liquor Licenses.

Adopted the Municipal Employee Retirement System Uniform Transfer Provision.

Expressed support for the Midland Area Partnership for Drug-Free Youth application for a Drug Free Communities Grant.

Confirmed the City Manager’s reappointment of Bo Brines, Doug Thompson and Claudia Wallin to the Downtown Development Authority.

Waived bid requirement and approved purchase of 13,209 gallons of unleaded fuel from Karbowski Oil of Bay City, Michigan for $31,794.06 that was executed by the Purchasing Agent on February 11, 2011.

Waived bid requirement and approved purchase of 12,800 gallons of diesel fuel from Karbowski Oil of Bay City, Michigan for $35,328 that was executed by the Purchasing Agent on February 11, 2011.

Approved Change Order No. 5 to the construction contract with The Christman Company of Lansing, Michigan relating to the Gas-to-Energy Plant and the Landfill Compressor Building, in the amount of $127,208.00, bringing the total contract to $8,645,269.

Authorized issuance of purchase order to Snethkamp Dodge of Lansing, Michigan, for the purchase of one 4x4 service truck for the Landfill, in the amount of $31,483.60 based on pricing from the State of Michigan Extended Purchasing Program.

Set public hearing for Monday, March 21, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. to consider revisions to the City of Midland Zoning Ordinance.
