OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS
MIDLAND CITY COUNCIL
A regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, March 21, 2011,
at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Donker presided with all Councilmen present.
Held second reading and adopted revisions of the City of Midland Zoning
Ordinance No. 1585, adopted November 8, 2004.
Approved Site Plan No. 298 – Northwood University.
Made the following Traffic Control Orders permanent:
P-10-16 Restricts parking on the north and south
sides of Wanetah Drive near Jefferson Avenue.
P-10-17 Restricts parking on the west side of
Woodlawn Street from N. Saginaw Road to 200’ north.
R-10-02 Establishes a speed limit of 40 mph on Mark Putnam Road from
Saginaw Road to Schuette Road.
R-10-04 Establishes a speed limit of 40 mph on Elisenal Drive from Joe
Mann Blvd. to Commerce Drive.
R-10-05 Establishes a speed limit of 35 mph on Schuette Road from Mark
Putnam Road to Waldo Avenue.
Rejected
resolution making Traffic Control Order R-10-03 permanent – Establishes a speed
limit of 35 mph on Perrine Road between Saginaw Road and Wackerly Street. (Yeas:
None Nays: Adams, Brooks, Donker, Johnson, Wazbinski)
Received and filed the 2011 Fire Department
Municipal Fees Report.
Reappointed
incumbents to various boards and commissions.
Appointed Judd Tanzini
to the Planning Commission for a term to expire June 30, 2013.
Accepted two new
streets into the City of Midland Local Street System as required by the
Michigan Department of Transportation for Act 51 funding.
Waived bid requirement and approved purchase of 12,502 gallons of diesel
fuel from Hirschman Oil of Reese, Michigan for $40,456.47 that was executed by
the Purchasing Agent on March 7, 2011.
Authorized
issuance of purchase order to Schaefer Systems International of Charlotte,
North Carolina in the amount of $21,768.80 for the purchase of residential
refuse and yard waste carts.
Authorized issuance of the following
purchase orders for Plymouth Park Pool Repairs:
JE Johnson of Midland, Michigan for the boiler replacement in the
amount of $33,200.
Tancor Corp of Midland, Michigan for the pool deck replacement in
the amount of $72,990.
Advanced
Pool Services of Milford, Michigan for the marcite finish replacement in the
amount of $44, 000.
Received and filed the Special Assessment District Improvements for the
Shopping Area Redevelopment Act (SARA) Assessment District and set a public
hearing of necessity on said improvements for Monday, April 11, 2011, at 7:00
p.m.
